Get in Vogue-Eyewear!!

I did this month-long internship as Campus Brand Ambassador for Vogue-Eyewear in Pune. It was for the promotion of a contest. Being on the site everyday I went through all the collections they had to offer!! Deepika's Favourite collection is too good! Do check out their collections here.

Through this website we can find stores that have Vogue-eyewear collections available. The other option is online retail through Flipkart.

When you personally go to buy eyewear, decisions are based on trying out the different options. Whether it suits your face or not is something we get to know right there. But how to judge the same while you shop online???

I got to know after doing some research that different eyewear shapes suit different face cuts. No wonder Retro round sunglasses never suit me.

So here is what I learned -

I will start with my face cut!!

Hope these tips will help you when you are hunting for next glares online!!
My current favorite eyewear trend is the Clubmaster Sunglasses.
Do let me know which are your current favorite go-to glares this summer :)

Surajkund Mela 2014

This is a very late post. I started writing it just after my trip but couldn't complete because of lack of pictures.

I got to visit 2014's Surajkund Mela, which is held annually, through our college study tour, which was specifically scheduled so that we could attend the same. The dates of this exhibition were from 1st to 15th of February this year. It is a yearly fair where artisans from all over India and from some neighboring countries display their crafts. This year's theme State was Goa. If you love Indian crafts, this is a must visit fair.

What I liked about it :-
  • Artisans get to display their work on a grand scale.
  • No middlemen involved, so the prices are reasonable.
  • You get to interact with the artisans and get to know a lot about the craft.
  • Amazing food court. Garamagaram (hot) Jalebis were the best part!!
  • They have scattered different arts around the place so that people are not bored by repetition.
What to keep in mind before the visit-
  • If you want to see the whole thing, you will surely require a day. (Trust me)
  • So do wear comfy shoes.
  • Compare prices and get the best bargains as there are many stalls with similar products.
  • You can take the artisans' visiting card for future orders, as some of them do take orders online or over telephone.
Here are some of the pictures that I clicked there

Work from Kashmir

Phulkari Work

Shawls

Work from Gujarat

Work from Agra

Now for my favorite....Work from Rajashthan

I loved this Visual display at this stall... It sets them apart from the rest of the Mojari shops

Accessories

And here's something that I really want to own someday!! *dreams & drools*

This awesome trunk *lovestruck*

If you are really interested in handicrafts, especially Indian, you will love this place. Do try visiting it next year :)

Favorites at Met Gala 2014

For a girl like me who loves ball gowns, Met Gala red carpet is a must watch. Especially this year as this year's theme for the annual exhibition is Charles James: Beyond Fashion. Thus, ball gowns were major part of it and for men it was White tie. I just couldn't wait. I sat in my home and went through the pictures and simply wished to be there, and to see the magic that art and fashion create together.

Charles James, though a British-born, is America's first Couturier. While going through his designs you get to see how he revolutionized fashion during his time. Structured, elegant & unique silhouettes can be seen. His Four-Leaf-Clover Silhouette was especially famous.
