Taking a Back Seat

I was back in my den last week and was glad to have some free time after what seemed like zillion years. By the time I opened my browsing window, I was suddenly missing something immensely. It was the pleasure of reading. I love to read books - mystery and romance. But I wasn't missing reading books. What I was really missing was reading blogs. I couldn't remember the last time I had the joy of reading the different blogs I follow as well as writing a deserving comment. I didn't want it to be a hasty visit with small comment. I really wanted to read and appreciate the posts. I wanted to enjoy the very thing that made me a blogger in first place. Reading blogs :)

This was one part of the deal, but the second one came when I joined a site recently. It had an option of  of categories of blog type. First one I could easily write Fashion and Lifestyle but second one was tricky and then I saw the options available for me. The only one that seemed to reach out to me was PERSONAL (yes, it came out just like that in caps lock and bold on my mind though it was written like - Personal). Why? It's because that is when I realized my blog is not at all personal. Yes, it is where I share all my love for fashion. But isn't that just one part of me? I want to share some different parts of my life too too. My thoughts, experience, views, etc. Not only that, but I also wanted to know if my fellow bloggers had faced similar situations or have had similar experiences or similar thoughts. For this I knew interaction was the key and for that, I need to know what was going on the blogging world. I was so happy that now I had time to do just that. I don't know if it was a fear of getting judged or criticized is was made me not do it. But I am going to make it a point I try and do it regularly. Read, comment, interact and share.

So, I was on my mission (still there)- Taking a Back Seat and Reading.

This post is specially to share my experience in this mission and to get a reason to share something personal with you *smiles*. It amazed me, how much I missed this part in my busy schedule. It was a joy going to blogs I used to visit earlier or the blogs which I follow via Facebook. I even found some new blogs. To know their views, experiences, hauls, diy projects and other such things was such fun. It is an inspiring experience in so many ways. Of course, I couldn't go through each and every blog, but I am trying to.

You might find a comment from me on your blog among the comments from various other people. It was sheer joy to read your post and to comment on your blog. The comment would be there to tell you that, somewhere, you would be influencing my life or being a part of it. It would be the reader in me that would speak and Thank you.   :)

Oh! So Pretty Little Liars...

I remember doing a post on Gossip Girls (here) in my first month of blogging and here is another post dedicated to a TV series, Pretty Little Liars. Why do I love the show? Just one word- MYSTERY...I love mystery novels and series. But that is not the only key factor for which I watch this show. It is an amazing fashion guide for teenage girls. The girls are easy to relate to, with quirky Aria Montgomery, simple and sweet Emily Fields, sophisticated Spencer Hastings, hot Hanna Marin and the mystery Alison DiLaurentis.

READ- Sources of the images are linked to the images

  • Aria Montgomery (The Funky Chick) - She is a simple girl with a funky fashion side. She has had a wild side in her past with her hair coloured pink. But now she is a sophisticated version of her past. The thing I noticed about this character is the way she wears her stocking. Even in the picture above, I am in love with her stockings. She pairs it up with dresses and shorts too. Black seems to be her forte. If you have a quirky attitude this character may appeal you in fashion sense.

  •  Emily Fields (The Girl Next Door) - Now here is a very simple girl. Though she is into sports (swimming), she is not very sporty in fashion. Her cloths are casual and simple yet not plain and dull. If you don't over-think on your style then this may be the character you can connect with.

  •  Spencer Hastings (The Little Miss Perfect) - She is very smart, rich and wants to be as perfect as her sister. Her style of fashion is very sophisticated yet suitable for her age. Her hairdos are to watch out  for. Pastels are her forte. If you are looking for sophistication and elegance she is your character.

  •  Hanna Marin (The IT Girl) - She is the popular girl but with a good heart, mostly because in her past she wasn't as popular and tried hard to get there. Her dressing sense is very chic, girly and hot. You see her in bright colours and very fashionable clothes. I can say that her style is a mixture of all the above. If you are looking to be 'The Girl', her character can be an inspiration.

  • Alison DiLaurentis (The Mystery) - She was the leader i.e. the Alpha of the group before she went missing and a year later, was found dead. She was the 'IT Girl' and had a spunky attitude. She was a very dominating character, which is portrayed through her dressing style. She has the confidence and beauty which every girls wants.

Aren't they pretty??

This series is packed with different characters, so it is easy to relate to and have a kind of a live fashion look book you need.So enjoy girls!! :)

Day Time Make-up

Today I got to try out my new Maybelline Colossal Volum Express Mascara. The results were fantastic. It gave volume to my eyelashes unlike my previous Revlon Mascara. The brush, as suggested, is very soft and helps to give curves to my not-so-curvy eyelashes.

Today I went with a day time look. Soft Smoky Eyes, as I call it. Applying golden colour as the base and then applying brown from the corner of the eye. Since it was day time I didn't want it to be bold, so I applied both the colours very lightly unlike the usual Smoky Eyes. Applied a Winged eyeliner and Khol. Brushed the golden colour below the kohl. Then final results were as below:-

I was quite happy with the look. Let me know what you guys think.
Enjoy the weekend!! :)
